How I work

How I work

A calm, steady way of working

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Here is what it looks like with me, so you know what to expect before you get in touch.

The first steps

How therapy starts

  1. 1

    A free introduction call

We start with a free 20 minute call. You can tell me a little about what is going on, and ask me anything. No pressure to book.

  2. 2

    Your first session

If it feels right, we book a first session. We talk about what brings you, and what you are hoping for. Nothing is rushed.

  3. 3

    Sessions that suit you

Most people come weekly, at the same time each week. We keep a steady rhythm, and we review how it is going together.

What a session is like

Fifty quiet minutes, just for you

An individual session lasts 50 minutes, in a calm and private room. There is no script. We talk about what is on your mind, and I listen closely.

Everything you say is confidential. You can bring anything here, however small or however big it feels.

Ways we can work

Individual, couples and online

Individual therapy

One to one sessions of 50 minutes, at the same time each week. This is space that is entirely yours, for whatever you are carrying.

Couples therapy

Sessions of 75 minutes for two people, when things feel stuck or hard to talk about. We slow the conversation down so you can both be heard.

Online sessions

If getting to Cotham is hard, or you simply prefer it, we can meet online by video. Online sessions are the same length and the same rates as in person.

When you feel ready

You do not need to be sure. The free call is there to help you decide, gently and in your own time.
